We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has proven experience within a primary care setting to undertake clinical coding of hospital/clinic and miscellaneous correspondence within the practice.
Main duties of the job:
- This role will include daily processing of all incoming correspondence to the surgery, received either physically or electronically by scanning and actioning as necessary in order to maintain accurate patient medical records.
- The ideal candidate will be able to extract the necessary data from correspondence using workflow optimisation and input this via clinical coding using SNOMED-CT, or distribute as needed to other members of the team for action.

We are a SystmOne practice of 4 Partners, 10 Salaried GPs, 7 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, a Paramedic and a Nursing team together with a knowledgeable reception and admin support team.
Job responsibilities:
- To assist in the smooth running of the Practice;
- To ensure that a comprehensive administrative service is provided to patients, visitors, Health Care Professionals and colleagues at the Practice and associated organisations;
- To contribute significantly to the development, implementation, monitoring and reviewing of practice procedures to maintain high professional standards.

- To be courteous and polite to all people associated with the practice on the telephone, face to face or in written form.
- To ensure confidentiality of information (written/oral or electronic) is always preserved whether at or away from work in accordance with the contract of employment.
- To follow practice procedures to ensure that Caldicott Guardian and Security requirements are always met.
- To follow procedures to ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018.
- To follow all practice policies, protocols and procedures concerned including Safeguarding, with the maintenance of ethical practice.
- To support and participate in initiatives to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all practice users. This includes following procedures to ensure the control of potential hazards to health and safety.

Person Specification:
- Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality;
- Knowledge of databases and spreadsheets IM&T literate Regular use of Databases;
- To have worked previously in a medical, health or social care environment.
- Qualifications: RSA II or equivalent in typing/word processing, Systems Minute Taking, Medical Terminology, Report writing.
