As a technology consultant, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective use of the technology and digital solutions for a top 40 national law firm. You will work closely with the lawyers, business services professionals, the Head of Legal Technology and Data, the Head of Tech Strategy & Architecture, and other relevant teams to deliver technology solutions that drive efficiencies, improve client service and help people to make the most of the existing tools that are on our tool bench.

The role involves:

  • Ensuring the effective use of the Mills & Reeve technology/digital solutions in support of the requirements of one or more of our business services support teams or National Service Lines (NSLs).
  • Identifying opportunities for enhancements to existing solutions or the introduction of new solutions.
  • Consulting with the business support services team/NSL to identify new opportunities to exploit technology to enable the team/NSL to build out their respective business and win new work.
  • Working with the relevant teams to enable the development and implementation of technology solutions to address the identified opportunities and challenges.
  • Ensuring the sharing of best practice across business support services teams/NSLs.
  • Providing feedback to the relevant technology team on recurring issues with current solutions and monitoring and evaluating their impact and effectiveness.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An interest in and/or knowledge of legal technology solutions.
  • A good appreciation of how lawyers/law firms work and how legal practices operate.
  • An understanding of business process analysis techniques.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for technology and innovation, and how they can be applied to the legal sector.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work with different teams and departments, understand their needs, and provide tailored solutions.
  • The ability to develop positive client relationships and confidence in providing client facing demonstrations (following appropriate training).
  • Creativity and critical thinking to identify new opportunities and challenges, and propose effective solutions.
