This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking law firm, where you\’ll gain valuable experience through diverse and engaging work in a supportive, well-supervised environment.
The role
Due to growing workloads, we are looking for a bright and ambitious individual to join our Casualty (primarily defence personal injury) Team based in our Birmingham office. The role also involves the successful candidate supporting the national Medical Malpractice Team.
The Casualty Team as a whole is geared to providing solutions for all classes of casualty claims and EL/PL. Working with insurers and insureds, we are proactive in resolving even the most complex claims and protecting the reputational interests of the insured. The team you will join defends claims on behalf of corporates, loss adjusters and insurers and provides bespoke and commercial solutions working collaboratively with clients who are engaged and require the best outcomes.
The Medical Malpractice team supports healthcare organisations and professionals in the private sector. We also work for insurers who provide cover to healthcare organisations.
The person
We\’re seeking a bright, motivated individual that brings a proactive, team-oriented mindset. While experience in injury claims—whether defence or claimant—is beneficial, it\’s not essential. You\’ll need solid technical and research skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and confidence in building client relationships. A high standard of work, flexibility, numeracy, and proficiency in MS Office are all key, along with a positive, can-do attitude.
The activities
Manage your own caseload of small claim and fast track personal injury defence matters, support senior colleagues on complex cases, deliver outstanding client service, and contribute to building a robust expert database.
Please read the job description below for details of the role and requirements.
We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.
The Benefits
As you\’d expect, we offer a competitive salary and a wide range of benefits. Click here to find out more about our core benefit offering.
Pre employment screening
If we offer you a role, we will conduct comprehensive pre-employment screening. This screening will include, but is not limited to, a basic DBS, verification of your right to work, a three year employment history and a self-declaration to assess your character and suitability for the role. Full details of our pre-screening employment process are available upon request.
