Join Mills & Reeve's expanding Advocacy Unit and advance your advocacy career. The role involves representing leading organisations across commercial, health, and education sectors. Clients include Jaguar Land Rover, River Island, Bosch, Carlsberg Marston's, St John's College Oxford, and the University of Birmingham.

Focus on Employment Tribunal advocacy: preliminary and final hearings, drafting, and advisory work. Work closely with the Head of Advocacy to make an impact in a dynamic, high‑profile environment. The Employment, Pensions & Immigration NSL team has over 85 lawyers, led by David Mills. We offer cross‑office training and sector‑focused away days to support learning and collaboration. The Advocacy Unit, led by Bethan Davies, is a key growth element of the firm. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with Bethan and colleagues across offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding client service to internal and external clients.
  • Understand clients’ legal, commercial and service requirements.
  • Build effective client relationships.
  • Prepare and conduct Employment Tribunal advocacy, drafting and advisory services.
  • Assist in delivering client training and support.

Technical excellence:

  • Qualified barrister or solicitor advocate.
  • Confident advocate in the Employment Tribunal.
  • Strong technical competence and legal knowledge in employment law.
  • Provide high quality, commercially focused advice.

Qualifications:

You will be a qualified barrister with 2 to 5 years post‑call experience.
