Mills & Reeve is hiring a Senior Associate (4+ PQE) to join our Employment team in Birmingham or Manchester.
The role involves joining the Employment, Pensions and Immigration National Service line (NSL). We welcome applications for either our Birmingham or Manchester office. The work undertaken by our Birmingham team is varied and spans a mix of sectors including health and care clients (both private and NHS), commercial clients (including automotive, manufacturing and retail), and higher education institutions.
The person we are looking for will have at least 4+ years' experience as an employment lawyer, gained in a reputable law firm or through in-house experience. You will be self-starting, possessing common sense and initiative, with the ability to work as a team player on complex matters. Very good time and documentation management skills, keen attention to detail, experience of managing your own matters on a day-to-day basis and delegating to junior employment lawyers, and excellent interpersonal and team skills, including the ability to work with others, influence and persuade, are essential. Some previous experience of providing employment law support to clients in regulated sectors is desirable.
Your experience should include:
- Confident, self-starting team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence, persuade and build strong client relationships.
- Strong organisational skills, including time and document management, and experience delegating to junior team members.
- Proven ability to lead Employment Tribunal and advisory matters with appropriate supervision at Senior Associate level.
- Interest in client training, marketing and business development activities.
- Experience advising large employers and advocacy experience.
