The role
We\’re looking for a Facilities Team Leader to lead the day-to-day operations of our Facilities Teams across Manchester and Leeds, ensuring a smooth, efficient service that aligns with the firm\’s strategic goals and values.
Based in our Manchester office, you\’ll play a key role in maintaining high standards and supporting a collaborative working environment, with regular travel to our Leeds office required. Please note, this role requires someone to be based from our Manchester office.
The person
We are seeking a highly capable and motivated individual with exceptional people and management skills to lead our Facilities team. You will have proven experience overseeing both in-house and outsourced services, along with a strong understanding of health and safety procedures. The role requires a confident leader who can inspire and guide others, plan and organise effectively, and maintain a calm, solutions-focused approach under pressure. Strong verbal and written communication skills, tact, diplomacy, and attention to detail are essential. You will be expected to manage client expectations professionally, work collaboratively across teams, and demonstrate flexibility and resourcefulness in a dynamic environment.

- IOSH qualified
- Involvement and participation in refurbishment projects and staff moves
- Cost tracking and budgetary understanding/knowledge
- Understanding/knowledge of building mechanical and electrical services
The activities
- In this role, you\’ll be responsible for driving the efficiency and effectiveness of the Facilities teams across Manchester and Leeds. By allocating resources strategically, you\’ll help ensure all functions are supported and exceptional client service is consistently delivered.
- Promoting the Facilities function as a vital part of Mills & Reeve\’s operations will be key, alongside fostering a motivated, high-performing team through leadership, training, and support.
- As the primary contact for facilities-related queries, you\’ll manage responses with clarity and professionalism, delegating tasks as needed and stepping in for the Senior Facilities Manager when required. You\’ll also play a central role in health and safety compliance—coordinating risk assessments, supporting staff inductions, and acting as Health & Safety Coordinator for both offices.
- Working closely with internal teams and external suppliers, you\’ll help enhance service delivery, monitor performance against SLAs, and contribute to ongoing improvements. Regular building inspections will ensure high standards are maintained, and you\’ll keep intranet records accurate and up to date.
- Team resourcing, leave management, and performance reviews will fall under your remit, and you\’ll lead development plans that reflect the firm\’s values. You\’ll also take ownership of your own professional growth, seeking out training opportunities and staying proactive in your development.
- Finally, you\’ll support budget management, oversee procurement processes, and contribute to business continuity planning—all while remaining flexible and committed to delivering first-class support across the firm.
