We are looking for an experienced employment solicitor to join our team to support further growth and make a real difference in the education sector by advising over 120 universities, colleges, academies and other educational institutions across the UK.
Responsibilities
- Undertake a broad mix of contentious and non‑contentious employment work, primarily supporting education clients and some large charities.
- Provide advisory and Employment Tribunal support, including managing litigation and delivering training, seminars and legal updates to clients.
- Assist with business development opportunities and deliver client training programmes.
Qualifications
- Qualified Solicitor with at least 3+ years post‑qualification experience in employment law, ideally gained at a firm specialising in employment law.
- Demonstrated client service excellence, strong business development ability and effective client relationship skills.
- Strong technical competence in employment law, experience with Employment Tribunal litigation, and ability to deliver high‑quality, commercially focused advice.
- Capacity to train clients, supervise junior lawyers and lead on both advisory and Tribunal matters.
Essential
- Degree or equivalent with A levels or equivalent.
- Clear enthusiasm for employment law and excellent written English for drafting.
- Excellent presentational, research and IT skills.
- Strong time and documentation management, attention to detail, and ability to work as a team‑player on complex matters.
- Experience of delegating to junior team members, building relationships with colleagues, clients and potential clients.
