By joining Mills & Reeve, you'll be involved in a broad and stimulating mix of commercial work, advising on high-value and strategically important matters across a range of sectors. Your work will include complex commercial contracts, supply and purchasing arrangements, agency and distribution agreements, outsourcing, strategic projects, IT contracts, IP licensing and data protection advice. You will work closely with senior partners and directly with clients, developing trusted relationships and providing pragmatic, commercially-focused advice. The role offers significant scope to shape your practice, contribute to business development and play an active part in the wider growth of the team.
You will primarily work alongside Jayne Hussey, who leads the Midlands commercial team and heads our Birmingham office, as well as other highly regarded commercial partners nationally. You will also collaborate with colleagues across our national practice, comprising 57 partners and 120+ lawyers, acting for FTSE 100, FTSE 250 and other household-name clients.
Requirements
8+ years’ experience from a city or large regional firm. Strong technical skills across commercial, IT and IP. Pragmatic, solutions‑driven approach to client advice. Genuine interest in understanding how businesses operate and what clients are seeking to achieve. Confident building relationships, enthusiastic about business development and motivated by the opportunity to progress your career in a supportive, collaborative environment.
