The role
We are seeking a senior commercial solicitor based in Oxford to handle a wide range of work for our life sciences and technology clients. Our life sciences team is among the largest specialist sector practices in the UK, advising businesses from start-ups and growing companies to multinationals, including global pharma and medtech organizations, as well as universities, research institutes, medical charities, and government bodies. Our expertise covers biotech, biopharma, vaccines, medical devices, diagnostics, tech bio, and agbiotech sectors. As part of our top-ranked team, you will work with our head of life sciences, James Fry, alongside other members of our large and friendly commercial IP and IT team.
The person
You will have over 5 years of post-qualification experience from a large regional or City firm, or in-house. You should possess strong technical skills in commercial law and proven experience with life sciences clients. An enthusiastic, commercially-minded lawyer ready to handle diverse work is essential.

Your responsibilities will include advising on:
- IP licensing and partnering transactions
- Clinical trial arrangements
- Research collaborations
- Promotional arrangements
- Other commercial contracts, including supply and manufacturing transactions
- IP advisory and protection
- Regulatory issues in life sciences
- Data protection
- Due diligence for corporate and commercial transactions related to life sciences
