The role involves maintaining and strengthening the firm's impressive bid win rate. You will manage and deliver tenders across the firm, working closely with partners, lawyers, and senior stakeholders. This varied and rewarding role combines bid project management with high-quality content drafting. You will ensure bid best practice is followed at every stage of the process while contributing strategically to complex and high-value bids. You will be supported by a Head of Bids who champions team development and progression, providing real opportunities to grow your career.
The ideal candidate will have significant bids experience, ideally gained within a professional services environment, and be confident operating at both a strategic and operational level. Key attributes include:
- Commercially astute, with a strong understanding of clients and their industries
- An excellent writer, with strong drafting, editing, and proofreading skills
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure
- A proactive self-starter with strong project management and communication skills
- Confident in influencing and persuading senior stakeholders and speaking with clients
- IT literate, comfortable using tender portals and embracing AI-enabled bid tools
- Flexible, collaborative, and positive with a good sense of humour
A CIM marketing qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
Your role will include:
- End-to-end project management of bids across public and private sector opportunities
- Drafting, editing, and producing compelling bid content using plain English and clear sales messages
- Advising and guiding stakeholders through the bid process with confidence and credibility
- Using the firm's automated bid system and centralised knowledge base, including AI tools, to work efficiently and effectively
- Collaborating on strategic bids alongside senior members of the Bid Team
- Supporting legal teams through to presentation stage where required
- Ensuring accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail across all submissions
- Contributing to continuous improvement of bid systems, processes, and best practice
- Supporting wider strategic projects and team initiatives
