Overview

Join to apply for the Trust Administrator role at Mills & Reeve. Our Private Client team is looking for a Trust Administrator to join our national group, based in either our Manchester or Birmingham office.

Responsibilities

  • Will drafting, estate planning, complex tax planning, trusts and estate administration.
  • Preparation of lasting powers of attorney and charity advice.

Qualifications

  • Experience of trust work advantageous.
  • Basic accounts or knowledge of double‑entry bookkeeping an advantage.
  • STEP qualified or working towards qualification an advantage but not essential.
  • Strong IT keyboard skills and good written English.
  • Strong grasp of numbers and experience manipulating data in Excel.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Clear and sympathetic telephone manner.
  • Ability to work productively under pressure, meet deadlines and prioritise effectively.

Activities

  • Management and administration of trusts, including inputting data into the firm’s standard trust accounting tools and preparation of all related accounting records and HMRC returns.
  • Correspondence with banks, investment managers and others regarding funds and investments held on behalf of clients.
  • Correspondence with various parties regarding the administration of assets held within a trust, involving liaison to obtain instructions and forwarding these appropriately.
  • Making payments to beneficiaries.
  • Responsibility for running files under supervision.
