Facilities Team Leader – Mills & Reeve

Join Mills & Reeve as our Facilities Team Leader. In this role you will lead the day‑to‑day operations of our Facilities Teams across Manchester and Leeds, ensuring a smooth, efficient service that aligns with the firm’s strategic goals and values. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards and supporting a collaborative working environment, with regular travel to the Leeds office required.

Role

We are looking for a highly capable and motivated individual with exceptional people and management skills to lead our Facilities team. You will have proven experience overseeing both in‑house and outsourced services, along with a strong understanding of health and safety procedures. The role requires a confident leader who can inspire and guide others, plan and organise effectively, and maintain a calm, solutions‑focused approach under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the efficiency and effectiveness of the Facilities teams across Manchester and Leeds by allocating resources strategically and ensuring exceptional client service.
  • Promote the Facilities function as a vital part of the firm, fostering a motivated, high‑performing team through leadership, training and support.
  • Serve as the primary contact for facilities‑related queries, manage responses with clarity and professionalism, and delegate tasks as needed.
  • Coordinate health and safety compliance, including risk assessments, staff inductions, and acting as Health & Safety Coordinator for both offices.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external suppliers to enhance service delivery, monitor performance against SLAs and contribute to ongoing improvements.
  • Conduct regular building inspections, maintain intranet records, manage team resourcing, leave and performance reviews, and lead development plans.
  • Support budget management, procurement processes and business continuity planning while remaining flexible and committed to first‑class support across the firm.

  • Cost tracking and budgetary understanding/knowledge
  • Understanding of building mechanical and electrical services
