Overview

Join Mills & Reeve as an Associate – Real Estate in Cambridge. You will work with the Cambridge Real Estate team on a broad spectrum of commercial property matters, collaborating with partners and colleagues across offices.

The role

You will support partners and their teams, contribute to high-quality work for a prestigious client base including Oxbridge colleges, developers, corporate occupiers with multi-site portfolios, institutional investors, family trusts, private offices, and global investment funds. You will be part of the firm-wide Real Estate National Service Line (NSL), led by Vincenzo Maggio and supported by professional support lawyers, with opportunities to engage with colleagues across offices on cross-team projects and deliver exceptional client service.

The person

  • Newly qualified to 2 years PQE or equivalent experience in real estate work (commercial property) gained in a large regional or City law firm.
  • Strong technical ability with excellent written English and clear, logical drafting skills.
  • Detail-oriented, well-organised, and capable of managing time and matters effectively.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; ability to work across multiple teams.
  • Experience in property management and development is desirable.

Activities / Areas Of Work

  • Property investment acquisitions and disposals acting for both buyers and sellers.
  • Acting for landlords and tenants in connection with the grant of new business leases on existing and newly constructed properties.
  • Property due diligence in support of real estate finance and corporate transactions.
  • General management work including surrenders, asset management licences, easements, and lease renewals.
