The Role
We’re looking for an Electrical Design & PLC Software Engineer to join our talented mechanical and electrical design team. This is a varied role that combines electrical hardware design with PLC programming, giving you the opportunity to work on both new product development and support for existing machines. You’ll work independently, with minimal supervision, in a fast-paced environment where no two projects are the same.
What You’ll Do
- Produce detailed electrical designs and documentation using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar software.
- Develop single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and control panel layouts.
- Specify and select electrical equipment in line with project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with functional safety and industry standards.
- Develop PLC code from customer specifications or engineering drawings.
- Program, test, commission, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI software (using PLCs and XG5000).
- Design and configure electrical hardware and control systems to meet project requirements.
- Ensure rigorous testing of safety-related aspects of PLC and electrical systems.
- Create HMI interfaces following company standards.
- Work with software and machine learning engineers to integrate PLCs, HMIs, backend software, and vision systems.
- Support R&D and ongoing product development.
- Collaborate with electricians and technicians during production and installation.
- Manage and coordinate design projects, overseeing the full project lifecycle.
