We are looking for an experienced Accounts Clerk to manage our day-to-day accounting, payroll and finance requirements, ensuring they are accurate and up to date. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. This position will be based at our head office in Draycott. The role will require excellent communication to manage supplier contracts, expenses and all day-to-day finance functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts Payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Check daily bank transactions.
- Process all invoices.
- Reconcile bank statements.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using cloud-based accounting software (Quickbooks).
- Reconcile Balance sheet accounts.
- Managing the appropriate approvals for invoices and supplier service contracts.
- Preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Preparation and management of payroll submission and payments.
- Support MD and assist with additional tasks as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software, ideally Quickbooks would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record keeping.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in order to meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with accounting principles, HMRC rules and accrual-based accounting.
- A friendly proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
- 5 years working experience in the UK a must.
