We are seeking dynamic and motivated Trader and Risk Manager to join our Financial Risk Management team in London. You will perform intra-day and end-of-day processes and activities for the trading desk, working with Senior Traders as well as other teams including Portfolio Management, Compliance, Operations, and Trading Technology. You will provide support for traders responsible for a wide range of derivative instruments. These will be primarily futures and interest swaps, but may develop to include other securities and derivative instruments as the London entity expands its service offering. You will also provide quantitative support, as well as other ancillary consulting, research and advisory support. Our client trading strategies rely upon internally developed, model-driven risk-management strategies. The quantitative support activity will require you to work with our Chicago and Sydney based portfolio management group, to provide local support for UK clients out of our London office.

Responsibilities

  • Utilise Milliman’s trading systems to monitor client risk exposures
  • Execute, book and process derivative trades in line with client hedging and risk management strategies
  • Work with operations for position matching, trade allocations and other post-trade activities
  • Act as liaison between the trading team, operations and portfolio management
  • Run end of day risk, position and other reports
  • Provide quantitative model support for our UK and global clients during European hours
  • Develop local quantitative expertise with support from the Chicago and Sydney portfolio management group
  • Develop knowledge of derivative markets and risk management techniques, and provide support for ancillary research, consulting and advisory work
  • Provide ad-hoc support for marketing activity in the UK

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, finance, economics or a related subject.
  • Strong experience in trade support ETFs, securities, and/or derivatives in equity, fixed income or foreign exchange markets
  • Experience with electronic trading tools including risk and order management systems, Bloomberg, and other trading related software.
  • Ability to understand the broader investment objectives behind trades
  • Strong analytical and information technology skills
  • Excellent communication skills (presenting experience is desirable)
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Maturity, good judgment, and a professional demeanour
