An opportunity to work in a hands-on role where you will be maintaining a small laboratory and being trained to perform QC checks. 12 month fixed term, full-time role.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain a high level of lab housekeeping including cleaning benches and floors, cleaning and maintenance of glassware, waste duties and availability of lab PPE.
- Assist in sample management including receipt, booking in, labelling, preparation for analysis, retaining samples and safe removal for disposal.
- Sample stability management including liaising with stability site to initiate and remove stability samples for analysis.
- Stock management and maintenance of chemicals, glassware and other laboratory consumables.
- Performing microbial environmental monitoring of designated facility areas.
- Preparation of microbial samples for shipment for external analysis.
- Ensure that the lab equipment, and associated operating procedures, are maintained including qualification and calibration as required.
- Prepare dissolution media, fill and change dissolution flasks and assist with dissolution sampling of batches.
- Sample and test raw materials, packaging materials and cleaning materials.
- Perform physical property testing of samples.
- Prepare Mobile Phase, Washes, reagents and volumetric solutions as detailed in documented procedures.
- Adhere to the Company’s policies and procedures especially those relating to Health & Safety policies.
- Comply with all aspects of the Millicent Quality System.
- Contribute to a quality culture and an appreciation of the quality system within the QC Laboratory.
- Undertake any other duties, which may be assigned by Laboratory Management.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum A level (Grade A-C) / NVQ in related scientific discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Laboratory Science).
- The ability to work well in a team.
- Time management.
- Experience with MS office applications.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desirable Criteria:
- At least 1 year’s experience working within a laboratory environment.
- Experience and understanding of cGMP.
- Experience of preparing risk assessments for materials and processes i.e. COSHH assessment.
- Experience of QC testing.
