DEPARTMENT:PRODUCTION REPORTING TO:DIRECTOR - PRODUCTION HOURS 40 hours per week Monday to Friday Evening shift 15:45 12:15 MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Be responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing and packing operations are performed, and facilities maintained, to facilitate the manufacturing of products complying with MHRA, FDA and cGMP standards. Ensure that the adequate finished product is available to meet the demands of the market. JOB PURPOSE: To co-ordinate and plan the smooth running of the Production department, whilst complying with all aspects of the Millicent Pharma Quality and Environmental Health and Safety systems as well as to MHRA, FDA and cGMP Standards. GENERAL DUTIES Leadership: Demonstrate high levels of leadership and people management skills to personnel within the Department and across the site. Coach, mentor and encourage all personnel on site to ensure they reach their full potential. Proactively develop and sustain cross and inter-departmental co-operation Personnel: Proactively manage attendance within the Department in conjunction with Human Resources and Production Management. Manage and motivate Production Department personnel to meet and exceed department targets. Demonstrate excellent standards and ensure adherence by Department personnel to Company values, policies & procedures, addressing with individuals as needed. Departmental: Ensure that all processes are carried out in an efficient and effective manner in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, following relevant Standard Operating and Health & Safety Procedures at all times. Manage the scheduling and operation of all manufacturing and packing activities providing operational guidance to the Production Department. Maintain sufficient raw/packing input materials and finished goods output materials to meet product targets. Provide timely, detailed and accurate reports on the status of manufacturing and packing operations, alerting the relevant personnel of any issues which may impact on finished product quantities and availabilities. Achieve KPI targets on productivity, waste, quality and cost. Liaise on a regular basis with Production Supervisor, discussing deviations/change controls associated with manufacturing and packing processes and agreeing and implementing corrective and preventative actions. Consult with management and personnel from other departments where required. Maintain adequate staffing levels to ensure market demand is met. Ensure Departmental training requirements of all staff are met. Manage the raising, reviewing and updating of all Production Standard Operating Procedures and other documentation associated with the Quality management and Reporting Systems. Authoring/Review Technical / Scientific reports and documents to Continuously Improve Manufacturing and Packaging Operations Manage the validation and maintenance of all Production Facilities and Equipment to ensure they are fit for use. Lead the continuous appraisal and improvement of established processes and assisting with the development of new products and processes. Assist in FDA, MRHA and other site audits. Manage new manufacturing projects, both internally (from Pharmaceutical Development) and externally (from a third party). Ensure all Manufacturing and Packaging cGMP records are completed by the Production team with data that is attributable, legible, contemporaneously recorded, original or a true copy, and accurate (ALCOA). Manage the transfer of Finished product Serialization Data to Distributor A full job description is available on request ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: A third level education degree in one of the following areas (or a closely related area): Pharmacy, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Engineering or Mathematics. Minimum of 1 year people Management experience. GMP experience Project Management Skills. Demonstrated Leadership Skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel Right to work in the UK. DESIRABLE CRITERIA: A post graduate qualification in science or engineering. Experience in the pharmaceutical or food industry. Technical experience in a related manufacturing environment. Experience of validation activities. Demonstrated ability to author and review scientific reports and documents based on strong scientific rationale.
