We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Loading Bay Engineer to carry out both breakdown repairs (reactive maintenance) and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on loading bay equipment. This includes dock levellers, scissor lifts, roller shutter doors, loading bay gates, and associated mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Key Responsibilities for a Loading Bay Engineer:
- Attend customer sites to diagnose and repair faults on scissor lifts, dock levellers, and other loading bay equipment.
- Carry out mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic fault-finding, part replacement, and urgent breakdown support.
- Complete scheduled PPM to SLA standards, including inspections, testing, lubrication, adjustments, calibrations, and identifying early wear or safety issues.
- Ensure all work complies with PUWER, LOLER, and company safety procedures.
- Provide professional customer service, advising on equipment condition and safe operation whilst having clear communication amongst our internal teams.
- Follow company policies, maintain vehicle and stock to standard, travel regionally/nationally, and carry out reasonable ad-hoc duties.
Essential Requirements for a Loading Bay Engineer:
- High degree of flexibility in working hours and types of jobs undertaken.
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
- Advanced understanding of Loading Bay Equipment.
- High degree of mobility travelling throughout the region, and at times throughout the country, as and where directed.
