Key responsibilities as a Commercial Manager:
- Lead and manage a small commercial team, providing direction, coaching, and strategic focus.
- Work closely with the Commercial Director to shape and execute long-term commercial plans.
- Build influential, senior-level relationships with customers through regular engagement and strategic dialogue.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer operations to anticipate needs and identify opportunities for growth.
- Drive commercial performance, capability, and continuous improvement across the team.
- Provide commercial insight to senior leadership, supporting business planning and decision-making.
- Oversee the creation of high-quality proposals, reports, and presentations.
- Ensure commercial governance, accuracy, and consistency across quotations and pricing activity.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Lead key account management activity, ensuring exceptional service and commercial outcomes.
What We’re Looking for in a Commercial Manager:
- Senior commercial background — ideally Head of Sales, Sales Manager, or equivalent leadership role.
- Experience working with retailers, FM companies, or Blue Chip customers.
- A strategic thinker who balances long-term planning with hands-on customer engagement.
- Proven ability to drive commercial growth and influence senior stakeholders.
- Strong relationship-builder with credibility at senior customer levels.
- Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing, or technical equipment environments.
- Highly organised, resilient, and detail-focused.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Experience:
- Exposure to loading bay scissor lifts or automatic doors.
- Experience in bakery, catering, or coffee equipment sales.
- Background in managing complex equipment programmes across multi-site estates.
