The Glass & Glazing Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed material take-offs and labor estimates for curtain wall, window wall, and storefront projects. This role involves generating cost estimates and producing quotations for submission to general contractors while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and responsiveness under strict bid deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret architectural drawings to prepare accurate takeoffs for glass, storefronts, windows, window walls, curtain walls, and interior glazing.
- Create clear, organized, and precise quotation documents for submission to general contractors.
- Work effectively under tight bid deadlines, including accommodating last-minute changes and extended work hours as needed.
- Respond promptly to calls, emails, and other correspondence from customers, architects, and material representatives.
- Continuously improve knowledge in construction methods, products, and industry best practices to enhance expertise and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of estimating experience with glass, glazing, or related products.
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, project specifications, and addenda.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners such as architects and engineers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound judgment calls when faced with incomplete or conflicting information.
- General understanding of construction practices, principles, methods, and techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Experience with on-screen takeoff software is required.
- Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for project or customer meetings and industry events.
Preferred location is Atlanta, GA, but remote work arrangements will be considered.

Reports to the Manager of Preconstruction.
