A well-established equities brokerage is looking to add a Junior Data Engineer to its team. The Role

Sitting within the execution consulting function, this role supports a team that turns market data into data-driven insights, product recommendations, and innovation for clients. You'll be helping to strengthen the data infrastructure behind that function, enabling the team to scale up the quality and speed of the analysis it delivers.

Responsibilities

  • Support the team's understanding of market microstructure across European equities
  • Build and maintain systems that turn raw market data into insights the business and its clients can act on
  • Spot opportunities across the team to automate manual or repetitive tasks
  • Contribute to data pipelines and analytical frameworks that speed up how trade analytics gets delivered
  • Make sure management has access to clean, reliable data to support key decisions

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Comfortable working with SQL and Python, whether from academic projects, personal builds, or professional experience
  • A methodical mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Genuine curiosity about financial markets, and an appetite to pick up market-specific knowledge on the job
  • A good grasp of how data structures and pipelines work, and how information flows between systems
  • Educated to degree level in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Maths, Engineering or similar), or up to a year of relevant work experience instead

Nice to have

  • Comfortable working with large datasets, even if that experience comes from outside a formal job
  • Some familiarity with a cloud platform - AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • A genuine interest in trading, equity markets, or financial data more broadly
  • Strong research, analytical, and communication skills
  • Any hands-on exposure to tools like Airflow, dbt, or Spark, including through coursework or personal projects
