Senior Linux Systems Engineer– Linux – Institution Brokerage – Established, profitable, and stable business expanding in all regions they operate within. The client has six offices globally, employing 1000 staff across these locations. They seek to hire a Senior Linux Systems Engineer for their growth. The organisation is a highly profitable traditional financial trading organisation offering sophisticated electronic trading solutions. Travel opportunities are available within this position. The clients requires the Senior Linux Systems Engineer to be in the office 3 days per week.

The Senior Linux Systems Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Leading visible projects in 2025 – Building environments and managing the creation of these.
  • Become technical authority across companies underlying IT infrastructure.
  • Maintaining and supporting environments of both servers and applications.
  • Adopting and implementing new technologies to improve and automate manual tasks.
  • Resolve complex systems and operational issues in a time-pressured environment.
  • Work within a split BAU and project-based environment.
  • Partner with internal QA and Development teams to automate tasks.
  • Monitor systems and performance and automated tasks.
  • Keeping the service desk fully informed of changes and tests to be carried out once systems changes have been deployed.

Senior Linux Systems Engineer skill requirements:

  • A degree in a STEM-related subject.
  • 8 + years of commercial systems engineering – Systems Administration.
  • Solid CI/CD build experience.
  • Proven Linux environment experience essential.
  • Proven Scripting experience is essential – Python – Bash.
  • AWS – Cloud experience desirable.
  • Virtualisation experience – Nutunix or VMWare.
  • Networking experience – multicasting.
