Linux Engineer

Base pay range

Linux Engineer – London – 3 days in City of London office required. Miller Maxwell is partnering with a market‑leading Electronic Trading organisation. They seek to hire a Linux Engineer to join their dynamic Infrastructure & Engineering Team in the heart of London.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support electronic trading systems.
• Implement new technologies to automate manual tasks and improve efficiency.
• Troubleshoot complex systems issues in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment.
• Work across BAU and project‑based initiatives.
• Collaborate with QA and Development teams to drive automation.
• Monitor system performance and optimise processes.
• Keep service desk informed of changes and testing post‑deployment.

Qualifications

• Degree in a STEM‑related subject.
• Strong knowledge of RedHat / CentOS Linux (Enterprise).
• Understanding of networking, security, and scripting (Bash, Python).
• Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) tools – Desirable.
• Familiarity with containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes) – Desirable.
