As a leading Principal Contractor specialising in fire remediation and refurbishment, we're expanding our Health & Safety team and are looking for a proactive, people-focused Health & Safety Advisor to help drive our commitment to excellence. The Role

Reporting directly to the SHEQ Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting our operational teams across multiple projects nationwide. You'll provide practical health and safety guidance, conduct inspections and audits, and help ensure the highest standards are maintained across all areas of the business. This position offers a mix of office‑based and site‑based work, with travel to projects across the UK and occasional overnight stays where required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion a positive and proactive health and safety culture throughout the business.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and reviews, providing clear and constructive feedback.
  • Support Site Management Teams with day‑to‑day health and safety requirements.
  • Produce detailed, high‑quality reports that help drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide practical and proportionate solutions in line with the hierarchy of control.
  • Build strong working relationships with site teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Review and advise on RAMS, COSHH Assessments, Construction Phase Plans, and Fire Risk Assessments.
  • Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Support the SHEQ Manager in developing and improving company systems, procedures, and best practices.

About You

  • Previous experience within the UK construction and/or fire remediation sector.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of CDM Regulations 2015.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Health & Safety Advisor or similar role.
  • Strong IT, administration, and report‑writing skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Knowledge of Temporary Works processes.
  • Experience conducting or reviewing Fire Risk Assessments.
  • IOSH Membership (TechIOSH or higher).
