About the Team: The team secures risk transfer solutions for professionals operating across a wide range of sectors, from established businesses through to new start-ups, on a direct basis and via third party intermediaries around the globe. When working with retail and wholesale brokers, cover holders and MGAs, we assist in arranging cover that addresses the current professional liability exposures referenced above.
What you’ll do: We are looking for a highly skilled Wordings Technician to join our team, providing technical product expertise and contributing to the development of innovative professional and financial lines products. As a Wordings Specialist, you will work closely with Account Handlers and Brokers, helping to draft bespoke contracts and negotiating directly with underwriters. Your expertise will be essential in delivering technical input and presentations for renewal and new business tenders, including reviewing underwriters’ wordings.
You will play a key role in establishing and maintaining relationships with insurers, clients and market bodies, as necessary, while helping to oversee Miller wordings and endorsements. Additionally, you will ensure regulatory product governance within the division, supervise insurer partner wordings to meet requirements, and assist with the management of certificate and slip templates. You will also be key in helping with the management of facilities, lineslips and delegated authorities.
Handling technical queries both internally and externally, representing Miller at market bodies, where required, and delivering technical training to support the development of resources will also be part of your role. In this role, you will be expected to adhere to Miller’s policies and procedures, which encompass compliance, legal, and financial crime-related legislation and regulations. You will also comply with external rules and requirements, such as those imposed by Lloyd’s byelaws and FCA rules. Promoting Miller’s brand and values to enhance its reputation in the market is essential.
The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of International and US Casualty Wordings. A good working knowledge of Market Reform Contract and a competent level of skill in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are essential. Strong attention to detail in work, communication, and planning is a must. You should have experience in the International and US Liability Insurance Broking Sector, with experience in Wholesale and Retail, and, be proficient in creating or editing bespoke wordings or clauses for International or US Forms.

Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of International and US Casualty Wordings.
- Strong working knowledge of the Market Reform Contract (MRC).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Exceptional attention to detail in all aspects of work, communication, and planning.
- Experience in the International and US Liability Insurance Broking sector, both Wholesale and Retail.
- Demonstrable ability to draft and amend bespoke wordings or clauses for International or US insurance forms.
