Within AHJ, we have a vacancy for a Senior Catastrophe Modeller to join the team, with a particular focus on catastrophe and other property portfolio modelling, using licensed software and in-house applications, including RMS RiskModeller, RMS Risklink, AIR Touchstone, Spatial Key.
Role Responsibilities- To work in a team environment and report to the team head.
- To carry out detailed analysis of clients’ portfolios and report results.
- To present modelling capabilities and results to current and prospective clients.
- To provide backup to brokers in the form of scientific evidence.
- To present models to reinsurers and maintain the division’s outwards profile.
- To keep track of current thinking in terms of catastrophe models and new technologies.
- To translate broker requirements into practical and achievable designs.
- To assess, manipulate, source and format relevant data.
- To develop innovative solutions aimed at giving the division a competitive edge in order to maintain current business and win new business.
- Computer literate with strong knowledge of analytical tools.
- Advanced user of vendor cat models.
- Advanced user of SQL and Excel.
- Strong GIS and Python skills a distinct advantage.
- Writing and presentation skills.
- Technical coaching/training skills.
- Effectively to prioritise tasks.
- Organisational skills.
