We are looking to recruit an Assistant Engineer to join our fantastic West Midlands Technical team. As Assistant Engineer, you will support the wider Technical team with the acquisition, planning, design, management and adoption of Miller Homes build projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting the team with the procurement of new development sites. The work will mainly consist of liaison with utility companies over new supplies and diversions but will also include working with drainage authorities, highway authorities and specialist consultants.
- Assisting in overseeing the design and detailing carried out by externally appointed Consulting Engineers responsible for providing designs for new estate roads and sewers and also the designs for foundations and where necessary have input into securing structural designs for superstructure components.
- Help procure service quotes for new developments and liaise with the Commercial Department to place orders with the preferred contractor.
- Liaise with Technical Team, including Technical Coordinators and others as necessary to seek the discharge of building regulations and planning conditions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A relevant industry qualification (or working towards).
- To have worked as an engineer for a house-builder, or the wider construction industry.
- Ability to plan, organise and monitor.
- Positive can-do attitude to succeed and progress within the business.
