Role Overview: The Divisional SHE (Health & Safety) Director will support the Group Development Director in implementing and overseeing the company's Safety, Health, and Environmental policy across the Division and allocated Regions. The role may be based from any of our Wakefield, Warrington, Newton Aycliffe or Newcastle-Upon-Tyne regional offices.
Responsibilities:
- Support, direct, and develop the SH&E Manager(s) / SH&E Advisor(s) to provide a coherent policy and approach within the Division and allocated Regions.
- Monitor, develop, and implement SH&E systems to ensure our standards, performance and compliance are of the highest order.
- Collaborate with other heads of function on SH&E standards and present arrangements to nominated departments.
- Provide support and advice to the Division and allocated Regions and represent Regional Management in discussions with employees and external organisations on safety, health & environmental matters.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in an SH&E Health & Safety role within the Construction/Housing sector.
- A natural leader possessing integrity, presence, drive, determination and enthusiasm.
- Ability to interpret SH&E legislation and convey it accurately to employees, contractors and relevant parties.
- Excellent problem solver, inquisitive and resilient.
