Main Function

To provide and manage the engineering input on specific projects and to support the Senior Engineer.

Key Functional Areas

  • To provide cost effective/innovative design solutions in a timely manner.
  • To ensure that individual projects run smoothly from an engineering perspective.
  • To keep the Technical Director informed of key issues.
  • To be able to act upon instructions from the Technical Director.
  • To always work in compliance with the relevant CDM regulations and fulfil the gateways contained within the Miller Homes CDM tracker.
  • To adhere to all relevant processes and procedures at all times.

Key Capabilities Required

  • Skills, Capabilities and attributes: To have the ability to design, manage and supervise projects and to ensure that external consultants and sub-contractors understand their brief and provide their respective input in a clear, timely and cost effective manner.
  • Be able to evaluate reports and provide cost effective design solutions for land appraisals and land purchase.
  • Behavioural Attributes: To be able to take instructions and act upon them in a prompt and positive way.
  • Knowledge, Experience and Qualification: To be qualified to HNC/HND level and have a sound knowledge and understanding of engineering issues often encountered by house-builders.
  • To have strong communication and presentation skills.
  • To be aware of emerging legislation and the impact on the business.
