We are looking to recruit a Construction Director to join our team. The role of the Construction Director is to manage all aspects of the Timber Frame Kit Erection Service provided to our Timber Frame Client base, acting as a key technical interface with the Client on service delivery expectations, scope of works, quality and health & safety. In addition to providing a key leadership role within the business bringing commercial insight into the estimating and pricing of new contracts and developing the customer base of the business. Underpinning these core functions is participation in the broader management of the business within the context of the whole operation, promoting the business within the wider house-building sector and representing the Company at a senior level within the Miller Group.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that all construction operations are effectively managed through Pre-Contract; Contract Delivery and Project Cost Control Reconciliations with potential problems being identified and addressed without an adverse impact on the business.
- Consistently deliver an excellent kit erection service to our customer base within programme and on budget, through establishment of measurable cost targets and maintenance of high standards of workmanship.
- Undertake the vetting and appointment of sub-contractors; raise sub-contract orders; produce construction programmes and programme resources, including fire mitigation assessments.
- Oversee the Construction Supervisory Team and carry out regular site visits in liaison with customer Construction Directors and Contracts Managers, in conjunction with NHBC technical standards.
REQUIREMENTS
- A strong construction background within house-building, with a sound knowledge of timber frame design & construction.
- A keen commercial awareness in pricing contracts competitively to deliver a satisfactory return while meeting customer expectations of excellent service delivery.
- General knowledge of NHBC Technical Requirements/Guidelines desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, providing personal support and a flexible approach as appropriate.
