We are working closely with a highly regarded Legal 500 specialist law firm, as they continue to grow their Housing Litigation team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a Housing Litigation Solicitor, Associate, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive Advocate who is looking to join a values-led firm with genuine career progression and high-quality work.
This role sits within a well-established and expanding Housing Litigation practice, advising a varied and respected client base including housing associations, local authorities, charitable landlords, and co-operatives nationwide. The successful candidate will take ownership of a diverse and engaging caseload, with exposure to complex and meaningful work that has a real social impact. Matters will include:
- Defending housing disrepair claims and supervising legal assistants
- Securing and defending anti-social behaviour injunctions
- Prosecuting matters under the Environmental Protection Act
- Handling possession proceedings, including Equality Act and mental capacity defences
- Resolving residential leasehold and shared ownership disputes
- Providing housing management advice, policy reviews, and legislative updates
You’ll join a close-knit team in Manchester, working collaboratively with colleagues across a 17-strong Housing Litigation team spanning 2 offices. The team is known for being supportive, approachable, and technically strong, with a genuine emphasis on development and collaboration.
About You
- Qualified Solicitor/Chartered Legal Executive with solid experience in housing law and/or residential leasehold litigation
- Confidence in advocacy and representing clients at hearings
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to delegate and support junior colleagues
