Miller Grace Recruitment is currently working with a highly regarded, Legal 500 recognised law firm with a strong national reputation for litigation. With modern offices in Liverpool City Centre and a growing national client base, the firm continues to expand several specialist practice areas and is now looking to appoint a Head of Housing Disrepair Litigation to lead and develop its established team.

The Opportunity

You will take responsibility for leading and driving a team handling both pre-litigated and litigated Housing Disrepair matters, ensuring strong technical standards, efficient case progression and excellent client service. This role will suit someone who enjoys both hands-on litigation oversight and strategic team leadership, with the opportunity to play a key role in the continued growth of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing team capacity and ensuring caseloads are distributed effectively across the department
  • Supervising and supporting a team of litigators handling housing disrepair claims
  • Conducting regular 1-2-1s, team meetings and performance reviews
  • Ensuring cases progress efficiently and clients receive clear, timely legal advice
  • Maintaining high levels of client care and service delivery
  • Monitoring performance and driving the team to achieve departmental targets
  • Supporting the development and training of team members
  • Ensuring compliance with CPR and relevant housing conditions case law

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor – minimum 5+ years PQE
  • Strong experience in Housing Disrepair and Civil Litigation
  • Previous team leadership or supervisory experience within a litigation environment
  • Solid technical knowledge of CPR and Housing Conditions litigation
  • Target-driven with a strong commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in Personal Injury litigation would be advantageous but is not essential.
