The Role
We are seeking a motivated, bright, and enthusiastic Graduate Legal Assistant to join one of our clients at their office based in Cannock. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a Law graduate or junior who is eager to progress into a law firm. You will provide comprehensive administrative duties to Solicitors and Partners across various departments, gaining invaluable hands-on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the management of case files from inception to completion, ensuring all files are kept up-to-date and compliant.
- Drafting standard legal documents, correspondence, and emails under supervision.
- Conducting legal research to support solicitors with complex queries.
- Acting as a point of contact for clients, taking inquiries, and providing updates efficiently and professionally.
- Handling filing, archiving, scanning, and managing electronic filing systems.
- Assisting with scheduling meetings, court hearings, and managing deadlines.
Requirements
- A Law Degree (2:1 or above) or a non-law degree with a completed GDL.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail is paramount.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with Case Management Systems is a plus, but not essential.
- Highly organized, ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines, and a proactive attitude toward learning.
