The Platform Solutions Execution Management department sits at the forefront of the firm’s industry-leading initiatives to apply technology, quantitative analysis and data-driven methods to its execution process. The team leverages its analysis of the firm’s trading to advise decision‑making at both the highest levels of the firm and at the very finest detail. Based in London, UK, the TMT Sector Specialist Originator candidate will report to the Head of Specialist and Corporate Access Origination, EMEA.
The Specialist Originator will be responsible for expanding Millennium’s corporate engagement and corporate access efforts and for producing proprietary analysis and content to support our investment teams. The ideal candidate should have expertise in the TMT sector, along with an existing rolodex of corporate relationships and a proven track record of success in origination and building relationships with company IR officers and management teams. Sector Specialists are expected to develop professionally and work collaboratively across business functions.
Principal Responsibilities
- Partner with the Head of Specialist and Corporate Access Origination, EMEA to create a strategic plan and to develop initiatives aimed at optimizing the supply and quality of corporate access opportunities while also developing a robust program of content to support Millennium’s investment teams.
- Serve as the sector leader for the EMEA TMT sector, building and maintaining strong corporate relationships through regular engagement with key companies (c. 250 interactions annually) and collaborating with brokers on corporate access events, including non‑deal roadshows, conferences, and field trips.
- Lead, manage and mentor team members by providing guidance, recognizing priorities, addressing challenges, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Analyze company, industry and macro trends with a focus on delivering high quality investment insights on a global basis.
- Build and strengthen relationships with Millennium investment professionals to understand their needs and requirements to factor into a corporate engagement program.
- Engage with Millennium investment professionals to enhance their investment analysis and coverage of companies, including the analysis of various sources such as public documents, interaction with company management teams, the sell‑side and industry experts.
- Lead, host or participate in Millennium corporate access meetings and generate proprietary content and analysis for investment professionals.
- Make proactive corporate access suggestions based on company coverage to curate differentiated corporate access events and interactions.
- Partner closely with other Millennium business areas including Corporate Access Strategy, ECM, Branding and Communications and other areas of the Firm to advance Millennium’s overall corporate access, branding and positioning efforts.
- Attend and present at events where corporates and investors are present, including IR education events, conferences and trade shows.
- Represent Millennium in a senior and compelling manner and ensuring a positive corporate experience and perception.
- Implement and leverage technology solutions to document and enhance the management of originated corporate access interactions.
Qualifications/Skills Required
- Proven track record of experience within financial services, specifically Equity Research, Origination or Investor Relations.
- Existing rolodex of corporate relationships within the EMEA TMT sector.
- Knowledge of trends, best practices, and developments in the corporate and IR community.
- A strong knowledge of markets, securities and investment strategies is essential.
- Ability to effectively engage with data, efficiently conduct in-depth research and expediently process and synthesize information.
- Ability to develop relationships with investment professionals to gain an understanding of their needs as an investor.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Flexibility to work both independently and to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast‑paced, results‑oriented environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong client/customer service orientation with consistent follow through.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
