We are seeking a Business Manager to increase structure, transparency, and commercial discipline to the financial management of our organization for a 12 month fixed term contract. This role will partner closely with senior Technology, Finance, and business stakeholders to manage the budgeting and forecasting cycle, improve cost visibility, and build scalable reporting and governance across a complex delivery environment. The successful candidate will combine strong technology finance experience with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insight. They will be comfortable managing budgets across areas such as cloud spend, software licensing, contractor and permanent developer costs, project investment, and shared technology services, while helping the organization improve cost allocation, forecasting accuracy, and overall financial efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technology Financial Management — Own financial management across the FICCT organization, including budget creation, forecasting, month‑end tracking, variance analysis, and executive reporting.
  • Cost Visibility & Allocation — Enhance cost allocation methodologies that link technology spend to business drivers, products, platforms, functions, or consuming business units.
  • Cloud & Software Cost Management — Provide oversight of major technology cost categories including cloud infrastructure, software licenses, vendor spend, developer tooling, and external resources; identify optimization opportunities and track benefits.
  • Forecasting & Planning — Build and maintain robust bottoms‑up forecasts for headcount, project delivery, BAU costs, and investment spend; improve forecast accuracy over time.
  • Financial Analysis & Optimization — Analyze spend trends and cost drivers to produce actionable recommendations on efficiency, investment prioritization, and resource utilization.
  • Management Reporting — Create clear, concise reporting for senior stakeholders covering budgets, forecasts, actuals, headcount, project spend, unit costs, and key financial KPIs.
  • Business Partnering — Act as a trusted partner to Technology leadership, Finance, and business stakeholders; challenge assumptions constructively and support decision‑making with credible analysis.
  • Governance & Controls — Establish and maintain lightweight but rigorous financial governance, including spend controls, investment tracking, business case support, and audit‑ready documentation.
  • Process Improvement & Automation — Improve existing manual reporting and planning processes through automation, dashboarding, and better use of data and tooling.

Candidate Profile

Essential

  • Strong background in Business Management, Technology Finance, COO, FP&A, or similar roles supporting Technology organizations, ideally within an investment bank, hedge fund, asset manager, or similarly complex environment.
  • Deep experience managing technology budgets and forecasts, including cloud costs, software spend, headcount, contractor costs, and project investment.
  • Proven ability to design and implement cost allocation models tied to business drivers, consumption metrics, or product/platform usage.

  • Experience producing high‑quality management information and presenting insights credibly to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across Technology, Finance, Operations, and the business.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with large, complex datasets from multiple source systems.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with cloud financial management / FinOps principles and tooling.
  • Experience with dashboarding and reporting tools.
  • Exposure to process automation using Python, SQL, AI tools, or low‑code platforms.
