Job Function Summary
The suitable candidate will be required to act as one of the principal contacts for Fixed Income and Equity (cash and swap) products. They will gain a thorough understanding of all front-to-back business flows and assist with the onboarding of new PMs and the development of fellow team members. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and an ability to manage multiple tasks at once while adhering to tight deadlines. The candidate will be responsible for managing and controlling high levels of risk, should have an understanding and appreciation of trading, risk oversight, and compliance, and be capable of working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, high-volume environment.
The Operations Analyst will be primarily responsible for daily reconciliations and ad hoc trade queries revolving around settlement, same-day trade matching, and broker queries. There is also a requirement to assist with project work for ongoing business initiatives.
Principal Responsibilities
- Have an in-depth understanding of the mechanics, practical applications, and processing of Equity (swap and cash), Fixed Income, Credit, Swap, Futures, and FX products.
- Management of T+1 trade reconciliations for Equity (cash and stock)/FX cash products.
- Mitigating risk by ensuring timely completion and reporting of all trade and position breaks on T+1.
- Supporting operational infrastructure for new and existing trade routes (e.g., Cost+, ALGO, etc.).
- Resolving position/market value/trade discrepancies vs executing and prime brokers.
- Break reconciliation and investigation between firm portfolio and prime broker.
- Resolving portfolio manager position and trade queries.
- Interacting and managing relationships with the internal trading groups and prime brokers.
- Cash management between different PBs.
- Intraday trade monitoring as part of the T+0 reconciliation process.
- Dealing with post and prior value trade queries.
- Ad-hoc trades support business functions.
Qualifications/Skills Required
- Undergraduate Degree or above.
- Strong knowledge of financial instruments is beneficial.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to prioritize in a fast-moving, high-pressure, constantly changing environment; high sense of urgency.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Strong Excel knowledge.
- Quick learner, detail-oriented; demonstrable thoroughness and strong ownership of work.
- Good team player with a strong willingness to participate and help others.
