As an Operations Control Specialist, your primary responsibility is to develop and maintain data analytics solutions for the organization, with a specific focus on Operations and Middle Office. You will leverage your technical expertise and business knowledge to create analytics dashboards, generate insights, and develop data automation solutions. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in process re-engineering efforts and strategic projects across the firm. This position requires collaboration with key stakeholders and senior management from various departments and regions to identify business requirements, develop project plans, and ensure timely delivery of solutions that align with the organization's needs.
To excel in this role, you should possess strong technical skills in data analytics and visualization tools, coupled with a solid understanding of business processes and workflows. Effective communication, project management, and collaboration skills are also essential.
Principal Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and implement risk controls (KRIs) for the Operations and Middle Office organization.
- Support regulatory and transactional reporting processes globally across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory regimes.
- Create a data analytics framework for conducting operational due diligence on external funds.
- Assist senior executives and business management teams by creating analytics scorecards and reports that drive strategic business decisions.
- Prepare automated data reconciliations and management reports to support various functions within the firm.
- Contribute to the firm's data governance and integrity efforts to ensure accuracy of trading and reference data.
- Develop data analytics dashboards using Tableau and automate manual reporting processes using business intelligence and data automation technologies.
- Evaluate and conduct proof of concept (POC) with FinTechs and vendors to identify potential solutions for optimizing operational processes.
- Coordinate and collaborate closely with internal teams across Operations, Middle Office, Information Technology, Legal, Compliance, and Finance, as well as external parties, to deliver projects and solutions.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technology, or Finance from a top-tier, accredited university.
- 10+ years of experience in management or financial consulting, operations, and middle office within banks or asset management firms.
- Solid understanding of financial instruments and products.
- Advanced knowledge of UI/UX principles and experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is required.
- Strong understanding of business intelligence, database principles, and experience with Tableau, Alteryx SQL, and Python is preferred (but not required).
- Knowledge of other technologies such as C#, .Net, VBA, UI Path, and R is preferred (but not required).
- Experience working with survey tools such as Qualtrics and Survey Monkey is preferred (but not required).
- Highly analytical and strategic thinker with the ability to make sense of large amounts of data.
- Quick learner with the ability to grasp new concepts and processes quickly.
- Self-starter with solid organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong presentation skills for project plans, presentations, data mining, and analysis.
- Detail-oriented, proactive in troubleshooting issues, and demonstrates thoroughness and strong ownership of work.
- Able to prioritize in a fast-moving, high-pressure, and constantly changing environment, with a high sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines.
