We are building a world-class systematic data platform to power the next generation of our systematic portfolio engines. We are seeking a core software engineer for our Systematic Data Platform group. The hire will be responsible for expanding and optimizing the architecture of our data platform and tools, as well as building data-related applications for cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications using modern front-end JavaScript frameworks (Angular preferred).
  • Design and build responsive, user-friendly front-end interfaces, ensuring seamless integration with backend systems and SQL Server databases.
  • Create and maintain optimal data platform architecture and implementation.
  • Build data applications and tools to assist data onboarding, provide actionable insights into data discovery/permissioning, operational efficiency, and other key business metrics.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, redesigning infrastructure for scalability and availability.
  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources using SQL and AWS big data technologies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from both business and technology to address data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Create data and analytical tools for internal customers to help build and optimize our data organization into an industry leader.
  • Work with data and analytics experts to enhance the functionality of our data systems.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with object-oriented/object-function languages: Python, Java, Golang, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
  • Experience with databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake.
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Experience with RESTful API design and implementation.
  • Experience with front-end testing and CI/CD processes.
  • Proficiency with Git version control and branching strategies.
  • Experience with NestJs is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Capability to handle multiple projects with different priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent self-management and problem-solving skills.
