The Copthorne Hotel Manchester has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic
Meeting & Events Sales Coordinator who will ensure all enquiry details are recorded and communicated effectively through close liaison with the operational teams to enable the smooth running of events within the hotel.
Key responsibilities as M&E Sales Coordinator
- Working as part of the Meeting & Events Sales team, reporting to the Sales Manager
- Ensuring the telephone is answered promptly in a polite and courteous manner
- Establishing client requirements and identifying how the hotel can facilitate their needs and responding to all M&E enquiries complying with company standards
- Ensuring enquiries are managed to maximise sales, occupancy and revenue, including up-selling equipment, Food & Beverages and relevant hotel facilities, where possible
- Dealing with all enquiries promptly and following up on a timely basis including inputting all enquiries accurately into the Sales & Catering system
- Compiling accurate function sheets, distributing weekly and discussing with the Operations Team accordingly, proving updates as required
- Actively working as part of a team to achieve the department objectives and budget
What are we looking for?
- Previous hospitality and customer service experience preferably within a Conference & Events Sales Administration/Coordinator role/similar
- Experience of Opera PMS/Sales and Catering
- Excellent organisational skills
- The ability to work well under pressure and often to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- The ability to use initiative working on own and as part of the team
- Ability to work 40 hours / 5 days per week. This will generally be between Monday and Friday, however, occasional/weekend work may be required, depending on business needs
