Pastry Chef Apprentice

The Chelsea Harbour Hotel is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Pastry Apprentice to join our talented Kitchen Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about baking, pastry, desserts, and hospitality who is eager to begin a professional career in pâtisserie. As a Pastry Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced pastry chefs, gaining hands‑on experience in pastry production, baking techniques, chocolate work, dessert preparation, food safety standards, and kitchen operations while working towards your professional development goals.

You will receive practical training across various areas of the pastry kitchen, develop essential bakery and pâtisserie skills, and play an important role in helping deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests. This apprenticeship is ideal for individuals who are committed to learning, have a positive attitude, and are excited to grow within a luxury hospitality environment.

Apprenticeship Eligibility Requirements

The successful candidate should:

• Be committed to completing a formal apprenticeship programme and all associated training requirements
• Have a minimum of 12 months' experience in a kitchen, bakery, pastry kitchen, or hospitality environment (preferred but not essential if the candidate demonstrates strong potential)
• Have the right to work in the UK and be able to provide evidence of this
• Have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least three years prior to the start of the apprenticeship, where required for apprenticeship funding eligibility

The ideal Pastry Apprentice will have:

• A strong desire to learn professional pâtisserie techniques and pastry production
• Creativity and an eye for detail in food presentation
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced pastry chefs
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining high standards
• A commitment to food safety, hygiene, and quality
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
• Previous kitchen, bakery, or pastry experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided
