We're looking for an engaging and charismatic Assistant Front Office Manager to be one of the faces of the newly updated Copthorne Hotel in Cardiff. We're seeking a proficient Assistant Manager to help lead our team of professional front-office colleagues to deliver the best possible experience with charisma and flair.

As Assistant Front Office Manager, you'll manage all aspects of the front office (guest registration, check-out, porter services, concierge—24 hours a day, 7 days a week). You'll support and encourage them to create a warm atmosphere that makes our guests feel at home—regardless of where they have travelled from in the world.

Responsibilities
  • Provide both strategic and hands-on support to the reception, reservations and night reception teams to deliver a unique guest experience that brings the hotel theme to life.
  • Support the Front Office Manager in monitoring the departmental budget and controlling labour costs and expenses, primarily by managing day-to-day staffing requirements.
  • Identify team training needs, oversee the training and general development of the Front Office Team, ensuring effective on- and off-job training is completed; provide ongoing mentoring, coaching and regular feedback, manage conflicts, and work consciously to improve all team members’ performance.
  • Carry out Duty Manager shifts as required, and have sufficient working knowledge of all other hotel functions to deputise in the absence of the Front Office Manager.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a supervisory or Assistant Reception Manager position, with working knowledge of all hotel operations.
  • Attentive, professional customer-service skills.
  • Confidence, professionalism and an engaging personality.
  • Experience using Opera CLOUD software (knowledge of MICROS POS software is advantageous).
