As a Casual Night Porter, key responsibilities include:
- Providing a friendly and efficient service to guests at all times ensuring company policy and procedures are complied with.
- Assuming Night Manager tasks, as required, when the Night Manager is dealing with priorities on shift.
- Arranging collection, delivery and storage of guest luggage, ordering and delivering newspapers and maintaining the cleanliness of public areas during the night.
- Providing general security in the Hotel and carrying security back up procedures, as requested and informing the Night Manager of issues to ensure that they are dealt with effectively.
- Cashing up procedures.
- Following the check in and check out policy procedures for guests arriving late or departing early.
- Answering the phone during the night, collecting breakfast orders and providing lounge and room service, charging as appropriate to guest accounts.
- Ensuring the restaurant is set up and prepared for Breakfast.
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience in a quality hotel.
- Experience of Night shift.
- Excellent communications skills.
- The ability to work well under pressure with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience of using a Front Office Management system, e.g., Opera.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, depending on the needs of the business.
