Join the team at the Millennium Hotel London Knightsbridge. The purpose of this role is to assist in the daily running of the Finance department, ensuring that all M&C procedures and targets are met.
Key responsibilities as an Income Auditor:
- Perform daily audits of revenue generated from all hotel outlets, including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Events and other ancillary revenue streams.
- Verify that all revenues have been correctly recorded in the Property Management System (PMS), Point of Sale (POS), and accounting systems.
- Reconcile daily revenue reports, cash receipts, credit card transactions, bank transfers, and city ledger accounts.
- Review room rates, packages, discounts, complimentary stays, rebates, and allowances to ensure proper authorization.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, variances, and unusual transactions promptly.
- Ensure compliance with hotel financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Monitor adherence to revenue recognition policies and accounting standards.
- Review voids, refunds, discounts, paid outs, and corrections for appropriate approvals.
- Identify weaknesses in financial controls and recommend improvements.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation and reports.
- Prepare and distribute the Daily Revenue Report to hotel management.
- Produce revenue analysis reports highlighting trends, variances, and operational issues.
- Maintain accurate audit files and supporting records for all revenue transactions.
- Assist with month-end closing activities and revenue reconciliations.
- Verify daily cash deposits and ensure all funds are accounted for.
- Reconcile credit card settlements with merchant reports and bank receipts.
- Follow up on disputed transactions, chargebacks, and payment discrepancies.
- Work closely with Front Office, Reservations, Food & Beverage, Events, and Finance teams to ensure accurate revenue recording.
- Provide guidance and support to operational departments regarding revenue procedures.
Essential skills:
- Knowledge of Opera Cloud and Micros POS systems.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an Income Auditor, Accounts Receivable, General Cashier, or Finance role within a hotel environment.
- Strong understanding of hotel operations, revenue streams, and financial controls.
- Experience working with hotel PMS and POS systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills with excellent attention to detail.
Desirable skills:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Hospitality Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Part-qualified AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting qualification.
