An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our corporate finance team at Millennium Hotels and Resorts UK in our Head Office as Tax Accountant (this is an on-site role).

Key Responsibilities- Compliance
- Support the outsourced UK Corporation Tax compliance process including reviewing tax returns and disclosures for the UK Group accounts and coordinating with external advisors.
- Support the preparation of the UK Groups VAT returns including data collection and gathering necessary backup support documentation for VAT reporting.
- Support with other ongoing tax compliance obligations including country-by-country reporting, withholding tax CT61 form and annual tax on enveloped dwellings.
- Preparation of journals, reconciliations, reporting, analysis and documentation in relation to responsibilities of the role.
- Reporting
- Support with internal monthly tax reporting including calculation of the UK Groups tax accounting positions.
- Perform UK Corporation Tax and VAT balance sheet accounts analysis.
- Prepare the consolidated Group tax provision (corporation & deferred tax) and other information needed for disclosure purposes in the consolidated group accounts.
- Support with the year-end tax provisions and disclosure notes for annual report and statutory accounts for individual UK companies.

- Assist with ad hoc tax projects.
- Regular review of VAT rates across our UK and European services to ensure compliance in the UK and Europe.
- Recommend and execute improvements to VAT review and accounting procedures.
- Work with other business units and provide tax input to develop their understanding of tax.
- Relevant post qualification experience of managing the compliance and tax reporting.
- CTA/ACCA/ACA qualification is preferred but not essential (candidate must demonstrate desire to sit for a relevant qualification).
- Good technical knowledge of UK Corporation Tax, VAT and WHT.
- Good understanding of the tax accounting and reporting, statutory and regulatory framework under IFRS and FRS.
- Able to work in an organised and methodical way so that internal and external deadlines are met in a timely manner.
- Good knowledge of best practice thinking in tax accounting and reporting and tax compliance processes and systems.
- A practical hands-on attitude is required together with the ability and keenness to initiate and implement process change.
- Able to work effectively with people across all areas of the businesses and build effective working relationships.
- Willingness to work hard to meet all reporting and submission deadlines.
