Millennium Hotels and Resorts UK are seeking a technically strong and commercially minded Tax and Corporate Accountant to join the finance function. This role will focus primarily on UK corporation tax compliance and tax accounting, with significant involvement in financial reporting, tax provisions, and balance sheet reconciliations. The successful candidate will support the Tax Manager in delivering accurate and timely UK tax compliance and reporting across the group, while also working closely with the wider finance team and senior stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with Big 4 audit and/or corporation tax experience looking to move into an in-house role with clear progression and exposure to senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review UK corporation tax computations for group entities, including supporting schedules and adjustments from statutory accounts.
- Assist with the preparation, review, and submission of UK corporation tax returns and associated filings.
- Calculate current and deferred tax positions in accordance with UK tax legislation and accounting standards (UK GAAP / IFRS).
- Prepare tax provisions for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting cycles.
- Post tax-related journal entries accurately into the general ledger.
- Perform detailed tax balance sheet reconciliations, including deferred tax, current tax, and provisions.
- Liaise with external advisors, tax consultants, and auditors as required.
- Support responses to HMRC queries, information requests, and routine correspondence.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in UK corporation tax (in practice or in-house).
- Solid accounting background, with hands-on experience in posting journals, preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting statutory accounts and audits.
- Clear understanding of tax accounting concepts, including deferred tax.
- Experience working with financial statements and tax disclosures.
