The Copthorne Hotel Manchester is seeking a driven Sales Manager to build and maintain strong relationships between the hotel and its clients. This role will involve managing existing accounts while proactively developing new business opportunities across both corporate and leisure segments. Continuing our soft refurbishment, the hotel is entering an exciting new phase, with a renewed focus on attracting local corporate business and leisure travellers. You will play a key role in positioning the hotel within the local market and maximising revenue opportunities.
Working closely with the General Manager and our Central Sales team, you will use your proven sales expertise, exceptional communication skills, and fresh, strategic ideas to actively drive business to the hotel. With your natural interpersonal skills, professional presence, curiosity, and passion for delivering results, you will contribute to creating a distinctive and memorable guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Generate ideas and prospect new business to grow market share and increase share from existing accounts.
- Monitor, analyse and report on performance of key accounts and contribute to weekly/monthly reporting on key activities completed and business developed.
- Maximise potential sales opportunities for transient, group and event business and other ancillary.
- Understand the competitive marketplace and implement approaches to ensure the hotel stays ahead in the local market.
- Negotiate contracts and complete corporate RFPs.
- Participate in client hospitality events, networking events, trade shows and sales missions in the UK and overseas when required.
Requirements
- Experience and knowledge within a similar market in Manchester.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Positive attitude.
