The purpose of this role is to assist in the daily running of the Housekeeping department, ensuring that all M&C procedures and targets are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of room attendants and housekeeping staff.
  • Allocate daily room assignments, ensure efficient workflow and monitor task completion.
  • Inspect guest rooms, corridors, and public areas to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
  • Ensure rooms are serviced, cleaned, maintained, and prepared according to company policies and occupancy and arrival schedules.
  • Liaise with Front Office and Maintenance departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure VIP rooms and special amenities are prepared according to standards.
  • Handle guest requests and complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Report and follow up on maintenance issues and defects promptly.
  • Train, coach, and guide housekeeping team members.
  • Conduct regular checks to maintain safe working conditions for staff and guests.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel health & safety, grooming, hygiene, and safety regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel housekeeping procedures and service standards.
  • Take corrective actions when standards are not met.
  • Monitor housekeeping supplies, linen, cleaning materials to ensure adequate stock levels and report shortages.
  • Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Promote safe handling of cleaning materials and equipment.
  • Report accidents, hazards, and incidents immediately.
  • Assist in scheduling and staff rota preparation when required.
  • Report discrepancies, lost property, and damaged items according to hotel procedures.

Essential Skills Required

  • Previous experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor or Room Attendant in a hotel environment.
  • Experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel preferred.
  • Strong understanding of housekeeping standards and hotel operations.
  • Ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Flexible and available to work either early or late shifts, depending on operational requirements.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of hotel PMS systems (e.g., Opera).
  • First Aid or Health & Safety training.
