Hard Days Night Hotel is looking for an Assistant Finance Controller who would be an enthusiastic, genuine and friendly person who really enjoys working in hotels. Reporting to the Cluster Financial Controller, the Assistant Finance Controller will assist in the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring profitability is maximised, risk management and internal controls are maintained, with analysis and reporting provided to the hotels and central management as required.
The Assistant Finance Controller will provide a consistent approach with statutory requirements, best practice and company policies and procedures, whilst ensuring all actions add commercial value to the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and timely financial and operating information and provide analysis, interpretations and projections to management as required.
- Perform all duties as required by the Cluster Financial Controller in respect of controls.
- Proactively manage the payroll function and ensure all costs are analysed compared to the budget and weekly departmental forecasts are completed.
- Utilise leadership skills and motivation to maximise employee productivity and satisfaction.
- Oversee the preparation of the monthly Profit and Loss Statement.
- Write P&L comments and distribute P&L pack by the 5th working day of the following month.
- Be fully familiar with the systems used by the Hotel in the recording and reporting of the financial transactions, and train Finance staff as appropriate.
- Be the first point of contact with external and internal auditors.
Requirements:
- Previous experience of 2-3+ years in such a role in a hotel.
- Excellent negotiation skills and strong people skills.
- A team player.
- Able to demonstrate accuracy and completeness in work.
- Have strong integrity.
