The Copthorne Hotel Cardiff is seeking Casual Food and Beverage Assistants.
Responsibilities:
- To report for duty punctually at the time specified on the weekly rota, in full uniform in accordance with the Image Standards.
- To undertake all cleaning duties as specified in cleaning rota.
- To understand all items on the menu, including recipes, accompaniments, and service.
- To be familiar with all alcoholic beverages available from the bar and their correct service in accordance with Weights and Measures Act 1985.
- To serve all foods in the manner specified in food service specification.

This job will include bar work. Do you enjoy talking to people and thrive off working in a fast‑paced bar environment? Are you quick on your feet (literally and metaphorically), know your Sipsmiths from your Tanqueray, and have a polite and friendly attitude? If yes, we'd like to meet you! We are looking for dynamic individuals that put great customer service at the heart of everything that they do. We currently have a number of contracts available so are happy to discuss flexible working to suit both you and the needs of the business. Our guests stay 7 days a week so we do need someone who is available to work a variety of shifts.
Main Duties:
- The service of food and beverage products in the restaurant, working within the bar, breakfast or evening restaurant team, or Meetings & Events working weddings, functions and other events.
- Being able to confidently communicate all our food and beverage offerings available to customers.
- Accurately dealing with all payment transactions (cash, card and room charging) in the correct manner according to company guidelines.
- Providing a warm and welcoming service at all touch points with the guests ensuring that any queries or requirements are dealt with accordingly.
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in a busy beverage service position is requested.
- Attentive, professional customer service skills.
- The ability to work well under pressure and as part of a big team.
- Experience of processing payments (experience of Micros would be advantageous).
- As the position covers breakfast or dinner service the employee would need to be available for morning and/or evenings to ensure seamless service for each guest.
